We are looking for an experienced, well-motivated and organised Library Assistant to join our supportive, friendly and efficient Learning Centre team at Lewisham College. The Learning Centre is popular among learners across the college enrolled on courses from pre-entry to level 3 and who need access to print and online resources and enriching experiences to enhance their learning.


The Library Assistant will report to the Head of Learning Resources and Student Services and will undertake day to day library administration duties. They will also support teaching and learning and assist in the day-to-day running and promotion of the library collection as a whole college resource. 


Interested candidates should have a level 3 qualification and be competent in English, maths and IT; thrive in a busy learning environment; and enjoy supporting library users with different needs and from a range of diverse backgrounds. Therefore good interpersonal and communication skills are essential as well as the ability to work as part of a busy team but also with minimum supervision. A willingness to learn and develop is also required.
