Lewisham College require a dedicated, enthusiastic and qualified person to take on the role of Lecturer in Digital T Levels.

This is an extremely exciting opportunity for a modern, forward thinking, professional from the Digital & IT sector to join our thriving College and be at the forefront of the new T Level qualifications. The College is continuing to implement new T level qualifications as they become available, and this is a unique opportunity for the right candidate to work with us in developing our curriculum.

We are looking for a lecturer to join the Digital department to be part of our growing team of Digital lecturers. The T levels in Digital Support Services are very broad and we would encourage applicants who have experience in any of the following areas: Digital Infrastructure – PC Repair and Maintenance; Networking and Server Management; Cyber Security Principles and Standards; Copper and Fibre Optic Installation, Testing and Tools.  Industry experience of IT/Digital Support sector would be helpful.

This post would be suitable for an experienced teacher, or someone looking to move into a career in teaching from prior work in the IT support industry. The ability to code would also be helpful, but not required.

The main responsibilities of this role include the delivery and assessment of high quality learning programmes in Digital T Levels and IT across a range of levels of further education as well as undertaking a range of programme leadership, tutorial and programme administration duties.

In addition, a successful applicant will be able to demonstrate strong professional links with employers in IT and Digital industries and should have the ability and motivation to develop links between employers and course delivery

The candidate must be qualified to honours degree level (Level 6) or qualified to the industry-recognised standard in a relevant field, hold a post-16 teaching qualification and English and maths qualifications at level 2, or be willing to achieve these within an agreed timeframe.  It is desirable that the candidate has experience of effective programme leadership in FE and has a proven track record of successful teaching and assessment practice.

An ability to self-manage workload, meet deadlines alongside strong oral and written communication skills and good IT skills are also essential. The hours of work will be flexible and may include evening and weekends according to demand.
